Commencement Bay Coffee Company

When Tacoma Go Club holds tournaments and other events, Commencement Bay Coffee Company is often the venue. They have a most pleasant atmosphere and spacious back rooms for meetings. The friendly and gracious staff serves up great sandwiches, salads, soups, and other fare, including their own coffee, naturally. They now serve beer, too, I believe. There's a go board and stones on the low shelf to the left as you come in the door. Open Mon.-Fri. 6am-6pm, Sat. 7am-4pm, closed Sun.

Simple driving directions, from the north or the south:

Take I-5, exit #133 onto I-705, north toward City Center and Tacoma Dome.
Take the first exit for East 26th St. and Tacoma Dome.
Go left onto 26th St., then right at Pacific Avenue, and then left at 25th St.
On 25th St., go uphill about 5 blocks to Jefferson Ave.
Commencement Bay Coffee is on the corner of Jefferson and 25th.
